I’m a heat power engineer who spent ten years building a sports nutrition retail chain, then moved to Miami in 2022 with my wife, two daughters, and no industry to my name.

My first repair job took three hours to diagnose. But the engineering education I’d written off turned out to be a superpower: I didn’t memorize repairs, I understood why machines fail. In October 2022 I founded Berne Appliance Repair. Year one was two technicians and 35 jobs a month.

Four years later the network runs three brands across Florida with more than 30 people, handling around 7,500 service jobs a year, plus commercial work for major retail chains. Half the company runs on systems I built myself.

7,500 jobs a year means nobody sits idle. Tight zones, a parts warehouse with instant lookup, dispatchers who actually dispatch.
